UK calls for ‘immediate’ release of Reuters journalists

England required the "quick" arrival of two Reuters columnists imprisoned in Myanmar on Monday, saying the decision had "undermined opportunity of the media".

"We are to a great degree frustrated with this decision and condemning and we require the columnists to be discharged promptly," said a representative for Head administrator Theresa May.

Wa Solitary, 32, and Kyaw Soe Oo, 28, are blamed for rupturing Myanmar's state mysteries law while investigating a slaughter of Rohingya Muslims and were imprisoned for a long time, fuelling worldwide shock.

Check Field, England's Priest for Asia and the Pacific, "said he was "to a great degree baffled" by the decision, considering it a "terrible day" for Myanmar.

"They gave profitable giving an account of loathsome human rights infringement in Rakhine state, and I have reliably required their prompt discharge, incorporating straightforwardly with the Burmese government," he said in an announcement.

"Columnists must be allowed to do their occupations without dread or terrorizing," he included.
